April 17th Blog

After Ira (age 92) gets into a car accident heading to where him and his late wife honey mooned, he is reflected back on all the memories him and Ruth shared. (Four months earlier) Brain, a professional bull rider, and Sophia, a college student studying art history, meet at a bull riding event that Sophia's best friend dragged her to. They quickly fall in love with each other nut come to find that true love isn't so easy. Both coming from such different worlds, they worry that their relationship is not going to work out. When Brian gets put into the hospital after a bad ride, It leaves him and his mom almost broke. They are on the verge of having to sell there ranch but neither of them know any other life than the one they have. He keeps riding because every time he wins a competition he earns money. it came to a point where Sophia wouldn't even want to know that Brian was going to another competition because she worried for him too much. Sophia doesn't understand why Brian would keep riding when he knows that is he gets hurt again he could died. While coming back from a trip up to Brian's cottage they see a car that has ran off the side of the road. As they approach the car they notice a very old man that is unconscious and has a weak pulse. They later learn that the mans name is Ira. After staying the rest of the night in the hospital they are able to visit Ira in his room. Ira was very confused and thought that Sophia was Ruth and asked here to read the letter he wrote for her. After reading this letter Sophia and Brian felt this strange connection with Ira. Later learning that he had died the next morning. Brian and Sophia were able to gather all of Ira's letters that he and Ruth wrote to each other. They realize that there relationships were almost the same. Ira and Ruth came from two completely different worlds and when Ira was sent off to the war Ruth worried about him everyday. Sophia learned that Ruth was very passionate about art just like she was and even own an amazing art collection. It was the same story separated by time.
