Best Book of 2014

I think the best book that I read in 2014  had to be Five, Six, Seven, Nate. The book is about a 14 year old boy who is living his dream as playing Elliott in ET: The Musical. It isn't all fun and games and stress free as he thought. Nothing went right. He was a swing (came in if the "main person" playing the part got sick or didn't come) for Elliott so he wouldn't go on the stage all the time. The rehearsals were long and hard. The day before the show, his arch nemesis Jordan (the "main person" playing Elliott) lost his voice and couldn't go on for the show so it was up to Nate who didn't even learn all the blocking! The end has one of the biggest twists that I never, ever saw coming. It shocked me and I know if their is a third book, nothing will be the same.

I liked this book because he is doing what I want to do in my lifetime. Be on Broadway and musical theatre. I also liked this book because the twist at the end. I don't think anyone that has read this book has seen the twist coming. I know if there's a next book that the plot will never be the same. The book never had any bland spots or boring parts and always kept the reader into it. That is just a few of the reasons I loved this book.

I think just the heart and soul of the book will stick with me because there aren't many books about musical theatre and there are so many great things that actors/actresses can learn from this book. The author who wrote this book went to theatre school and has been in Broadway experiences and know almost everyone on Broadway.

I really hope he writes at least one more because I just love this book so much. I know I'm going to use some lessons from this book in the future, even if it isn't on Broadway!
