The plot of the book is about a young girl named Cheyenne, who happens to be blind accidently gets kidnapped by a man. Cheyenne was waiting in the car for her stepmother Danielle to go into the store to get her medicine when a man is looking to steal the running car she's in. Eventually he gets in and starts to drive away. The man driving doesn't realize that there was a blind and sick girl laying down in the back seat to give her sick body a rest when he was only looking to take the car and not her. He doesnt stop and let her go once he sees her because he thinks she'll find somebody and tell so she is forced to go along for the journey.
The thing I liked most about this book was the suspense, you never knew what would happen next. It was like each paragraph was a mystery and it was hard to put the book down. A part of the book that will stick in my head for a while is a part in the book when the guy gets into the car and the silence of this helpless blind girl is present. I will remember this part of the book because each sentence led to a huge twist in the story and I never knew what would happen next. Also, the author April Henry, used very descriptive words to help picture the story plot in your head. Even until this day I can see the story in my head. I can picture their big black escalade truck parked fairly close to the store front with Cheyenne laying in the back with her cane in front of her. I recommend to read this book and find out what else happens.

Amanda, this looks like a very good book. I'm interested in reading it because i love mystery books. I love these kinds of books because at almost all the chapters it leaves you at the point where you just want to keep reading. Is there a sequel to this book? I can't wait to go see if they have it in the library.
ReplyDeleteThis book looks great, I have been looking for something new to read and I may need to check this one out. The way you described the suspense reminds me of a book i just finished, The Bone Season, they sound really similarly paced which interests me.
