The Soloist

     Hey guys, its Aneesa. The best book I read this year was The Soloist by Steve Lopez. The book is about an amazing violinist who played for a long time and played at Julliard for 1 year until he got diagnosed with schizophrenic. Schizophrenic, is a disease that makes you believe things that aren't true and see things that aren't there. He eventually got himself onto the street and totally lost himself. A writer named Steve Lopez, reached out to him and tried to give him help. The story is mainly about how he overcomes this, and the emotional bond the writer and the soloist have. 
         I decided to write about this book because I think it is amazing yet horrible how you can be amazing at something and then suddenly it's all gone. The story is bitter sweet and that's what I like about it. I also like how he loves music, usually when someone becomes homeless they don't do anything but, he played the violin and he loved every minute of it and that's what i love and adore the most, that after all of this he still plays, he didn't give up on the one thing that meant the most to him. 
        The thing that will stick with me the longest is the love that he had for music. The writer explained him playing in a way where it was pure love. He wasn't playing for money he was playing because he loved music and was emotionally attached to it, and i think that is what people should be like.
