I chose this book because it is the last one so far in the series I have been reading. I originally chose the series because I like fantasy and I had heard the TV show was good so I wanted to read the books. My parents also watch the show and I had heard from them that it was good. My cousin also recommended it to me.
Sansa Stark is a character who starts off, honestly, a little spoiled and entitled, but through out the series she has become one of the strongest characters. She has become cunning and is able to lie well enough to not only escape the lanniasters ,who have tormented her for years and now want her, but to even secure a better claim and life for herself. Most of her story line in the first few books was just her trying to survive in Kings Landing with Joffery, the boy she was supposed to marry who constantly had her hurt. This only happened after she had trusted the lannisters before though. She was originally very excited to go to kings landing, marry Joffery, and eventually become queen and living the perfect life she had been told she was going to live. The majority of the first book was her loving and trusting them with her future, but the day they had her father beheaded she realized too late they did not have the pure goals she thought they did. She had assumed they had the intentions she had been told queens and princes and the rest of the royal family had in the stories she had been told. This ties into the real world because that experience and how it affected her is something some readers can relate to. People believe what they want to believe about something or someone for as long as they can until they have no choice but to face reality. This affected Sansa so much not only because of the horrific thing that happened, the beheading of her father right in front of her, but by the fact that is was done by people she had once called her friends. Her friends had betrayed her in the most brutal possible way and, unfortunately, I think some people may be able to relate to that. This song fits her story line and experiences perfectly.
