Way of the Wolf

Way of the Wolf by Bear Grylls is a book about a kid named Beck who is traveling out to Alaska with his uncle.  During the plane ride he meets a native named Tikaani.  When they are close to their arrival the pilot ends up flying into a storm which leads to the plane crashing at the base of a mountain.  Beck and Tikaani have to take care of his uncle because he was badly injured in the crash while Beck and Tikaani are okay.  They start heading off into the tundra with limited layers and extremely limited supplies which is where I left off and I'm excited to find out how they find help and survive in these extreme conditions.

I chose this book because my teacher recommended this book to me.  She recommended this book to me because I like adventure, exciting, and thrilling books.  This book can be categorized as all three which makes this book an excellent match for my interests.  This book also doesn't just dab into the three categories or in one man than the other two.  Way of the Wolf deeply goes into all three categories which makes for an exciting novel to read.

I can relate Beck to a leader because of his bravery and intelligence.  Beck led Tikaani all through the tundra even though he was as scared as he had ever been.  Beck also stayed calm and never showed Tikaani that he was afraid or that he doubted that they and his uncle were gonna be okay.  These traits and decisions were the reason Tikaani was always comfortable and never feared anyone or anything.
