"If I Stay" is a novel about a teenage girl, Mia, who's family gets in a car accident. Her boyfriend Adam is a rocker and is the lead singer of the his band "The Shooting Stars." When her and her family are driving down an icy road, they hit another car. Her mother was killed from the impact and her dad died shortly after in the Emergency Room. Her brother hung on a little longer but he didn't make it. Mia is told that it is her choice if she stays in her life or if she dies along with the rest of her family. If she stays, she will be an orphan, but if she leaves, she leaves Adam. After a lot of debating between staying and leaving, she wakes up.
I chose to read this book because I heard that everyone was liking it. I also saw that there was a movie coming out about it so I figured it would not only be good but it would be different. Some of my friends saw the movie and said that they liked at that it was an interesting plot. I am the kind of person who likes to read a book before I go see it in the theatres. I ended up finishing the book and then went to see the movie.
I believe that this book relates to the song "See You Again" by Carrie Underwood. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTnWFT3DvVA I think that it relates to that song because Carrie Underwood is singing that she wants a guy again after he goes out to war. Mia has the decision whether or not she stays in this world or leaves it with the rest of her family. The main reason that she chooses to stay is because she needs to be with Adam. She wants to see him again just like Carrie Underwood wants to see her love again. Mia would not be able to bear leaving Adam so she stays.
