The Scorch Trials

At the moment in The Scorch Trials Thomas and the Gladers are just escaping out of the lightning storm that left them burned injured and some dead. The Gladers have found a building on the edge of the city that seems to be abandon. They enter the building and find a building that seems to be full of early stage Cranks.

I choose this book because I really loved the first book The Maze Runner. The book is starting off a little slow pace but i believe it will pick up soon. I decided to start reading this series when i saw the preview of the movie on TV and decided I wanted to read the books first.

Throughout the first and second book Thomas and Theresa have a very strong bond that grows through there telepathy. They are like a part of each other and are insuperable in the first book. In the beginning of the Scorch Trials, Theresa disappears from the dorm and they believe shes has been taken. This greatly impacts Thomas and hinders his ability to thinks straight. After Theresa is taken away from him he asks as if a piece of himself is gone as well.
In a TV show i watch, Chicago Fire, Kelly
Severide and Leslie Shay have a relationship similar to that of Theresa and Thomas, but in a less romantic way. Severide is the Lieutenant of the squad truck and Leslie Shay is a parametric that assists the firefighters. Severide and Shay become close from the start and become roommates. They bond alot and become comparable to that of a brother and sister. On a call to a building on fire the building explodes and Shay is killed inside the building from head trauma. Severide takes her death extremely hard and starts to make stupid decisions and becomes an alcoholic. Severide soon falls apart and is an emotional wreck, crashing in different places everynight and even goes to Vegas and marries a girl he barely knows. These two stories connect by showing how when Severide and Thomas lose a person close to themselves they also loose apart of themselves and fall apart.

The video below shows how Severide lost Shay and how it affects him in a general view
