Tangerine, Edward Bloor.

The book I am reading is called Tangerine, and this book is manly about a boy who moves from Texas to Florida which is known for having a lot of lightning hitting and killing people. He and his brother are close but, his brother gets the attention because he plays football and that is what his dad cares mainly about football. But when the son is on the football team a young boy named Mike Costello dies from being stuck by lightning and Erik and his friend named Arthur tell the story to his mom and Paul. But after the story the mom runs into the kitchen makes some calls, Paul hears a noise of laughter and Erik and Arthur are laughing about the death of their teammate.
I chose this book because one its a sports book and judging by the cover it though it was going to be all about soccer but in the first part of the book it about the death of young Mike. But also I chose it because the book is a sports book and in the beginning of the year I saw a lot of sports books but never this one. When I asked Mrs. Schoeppich, to give me a new book she told me that this book, is a book that I would like. The last reason I chose this book was because I  wanted to read more because in middle school I struggled with reading but since it was a start of a new year I turned things around, and started to use my imagination when reading, and it worked.
A connection i can make to this book and Paul is that Paul is a goalie and he had a magic moment when he saved a shot from a kid name Gino Deluca, " Gino kept hammering penalty shots into the upper left corner of the goal while a tall kid in a gray sweatshirt retrieved the ball and rolled it back. Gino is obviously a major leaguer. He's the kind of guy you have to have on a soccer team in order to win. The guy who wants to take penalty kicks. The guy who's hungry to score the goals." So the magic moment Paul has is, making a save on Gino because he knew right where he was going to shoot. He made a save like Guillermo Ochoa like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_B2dupQtNg he made a save by " I sprang up and to my right wrist. The ball flew away from the goal fast as it had flown in. It sailed toward the far sideline. I hit the ground and popped up immediately, ready for more." The is the type of save he made and that is the type of saves Guillermo Ochoa makes in every game he plays.
