The Scorch Trials

The Scorch Trials by James Dashner, is the sequel to The Maze Runner. So far the Gladers have covered most of The Scorch that they have to cross. They eventually reach a city in which they look to find shelter and food, but as they enter the city a massive lightning storm rolls in. After suffering more casualties they finally make it to cover. They soon learn that the building is filled with Cranks, people infected by the flare, but these Cranks are not fully gone. Thomas, the main character, finds a way to make an agreement with the leader for there help in crossing the city to reach the the safe heaven in the mountains.
This book wasn't a recommendation, just a another book in the series, but he entire series was recommended to me by my librarian.

I saw a link between this song and the book when the Gladers had to run through the lightning storm. "They fell from the sky in jagged streaks, like bars of white light, slamming into the  ground  and throwing up massive amounts of scorched earth."  The lyrics " the lightning all around me" immediately makes me think of the Gladers running trying to avoid being struck by the massive lightning bolts raining down from above all around them. Also the name of the song "New Divide" makes me think of the Gladers crossing the Scorch, their own new divide between them and the safe haven they are trying to reach.
